Atelier de Balthus scented candle: the pot of turquoise paint by Astier de Villatte

Atelier de Balthus in a deluxe version: a pot of turquoise paint in white ceramic with its platinum lid, a magnified – but exact – copy of the paint pots used by Balthus in his workshop.

“In the painter’s studio, all covered in wood panelling, time seems suspended. Through the big bay window overlooking green altitude meadows, the Northern light pours its powdery rays all over brushes, palettes, tubes, paint pots, sketched canvasses and rags still wet with linseed oil. The air is fragrant with the intoxicating smell of turpentine mixed with lovely wisps of smoke, honey, wood, tobacco and cedar wood.”

Vegetable candle wax, cotton wick.
Contains Essence of Turpentine from Spain, Cedar from Texas and Patchouli from Indonesia. Candle designed with Setsuko, wife and now widow of the painter Balthus.
